I photograph in Barcelona almost every week. The Mediterranean light is home to me — I know its rhythms, its colours, the way it changes with every season. But Paris is the place that reminds me why I fell in love with film in the first place.

The light here is different from anything on the coast. Cooler, softer, filtered through limestone and grey sky and centuries of architecture. Where Barcelona is warm and immediate, Paris asks you to slow down. And film — Kodak Portra, medium format, no screen to check — slows down with it.

This elopement was intimate and personal — a couple who chose Paris not for a grand celebration but for a private one, just the two of them and the city. She wore a wedding dress through the streets of Le Marais as if it were the most natural thing in the world — and in Paris, somehow, it was. Nobody stared. The city simply absorbed them into its beauty and carried on.

We started in the Tuileries as the afternoon light turned the gravel paths gold and the Louvre caught the last warm glow of the day. Then into Le Marais — the cobblestoned courtyard of Place des Vosges, the iron balconies, a quiet café where we stopped and the photographs happened without anyone noticing. And finally along the Seine as the sky turned from blue to violet and the city did what Paris does at that hour: became the most beautiful version of itself.

I travel to Paris every month from Barcelona — it's a short flight or a direct train, and the city never stops surprising me on film.
