OLYA KOBRUSEVA — FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN BARCELONA, SPAIN

Film is not a filter. It's a different way of being present.

Your wedding day will move faster than you expect. The light will shift before you notice it. Someone will say something and the whole room will laugh — and then it will be gone. My job is to already be watching for it.

I chose analog film before it came back into fashion, and I'll still be shooting it when it goes out again. Not because of the grain or the warmth — though those are real — but because of what it does to me behind the camera. Film slows me down. It makes every frame a decision. There's no burst mode, no delete button, no chimping the screen after every shot. Just presence. Couples feel this. The day feels calmer. More like it's actually happening.

The photographs you'll return to in twenty years are never the posed ones. They're the glance across the room. Your father's face when he sees you. The light through the window at exactly the wrong time of day that somehow turned out perfect. Those are the frames I'm here for. I take fifteen weddings a year so I can be fully, unhurriedly here for yours.

FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN BARCELONA& SPAIN

Film changes three things: the way I work, the way you feel on the day, and the way your photographs age. I shoot Kodak Portra 400 and 800 for colour, Ilford Delta for black and white — all developed and scanned at Carmencita Film Lab in Valencia. Every frame considered. Nothing disposable.

Whether it's just the two of you in the Gothic Quarter at dusk, or three days of celebration at a Mallorcan finca — this is the work I was made for. The scale doesn't change how I see. Only the light does.

I also shoot Super 8 on an original 1970s camera. The footage is grainy, warm, and imperfect in exactly the right way — it looks like a memory feels, not like a film production.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN BARCELONA

If you're coming to Barcelona before your wedding, shoot with me first. Not to practise posing — but because couples who've spent an afternoon with me already know how I move, how I see, what I'm waiting for. By your wedding day, there's nothing to figure out.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN BARCELONA

Destination Wedding Photographer Across Spain & Europe

Every wedding begins months before the day itself. Once we're booked, I'll study your venue's light, walk you through the timeline, and arrive in your destination early — I've worked at most of Spain and Europe's top wedding venues and already know where the magic happens at each hour.

On the day I shoot a combination of medium format film — Contax 645, Pentax 67 — and digital. Film for the portraits, the details, the moments that deserve depth and grain. Digital so nothing is missed in the fast-moving parts: the ceremony, the speeches, the dance floor. You get the soul of analog and the completeness of digital.

Your gallery arrives as a curated collection. Not every frame I shot — only the ones worth keeping. On a full wedding day, that's typically 800+, delivered within six to eight weeks.

I work fluently in English, Spanish, and Russian — and I've photographed couples from over twenty countries.
