MEET OLYA KOBRUSEVA — FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN SPAIN & EUROPE

I'm Olya Kobruseva — a fine art film wedding photographer based in Barcelona, specialising in destination weddings across Spain and Europe.
 

Over the past decade I've had the privilege of photographing at some of Europe's most celebrated venues — Belmond La Residencia and Son Marroig in Mallorca, Château de Gaude in Provence, The Westin Vendôme in Paris, Masia Cabellut in Catalonia, Herdade do Sobroso in Portugal's wine country, and Cigarral de las Mercedes in Toledo.

I photograph never more than fifteen weddings each year — so that every couple I work with receives my complete creative attention, from the first conversation to the final image.

My medium is analog film. Kodak Portra 400 and 800, developed at Carmencita Film Lab. The warmth, softness, and grain that only film can produce — this is what I've built my entire practice around. Whether it's an intimate elopement in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, a vineyard wedding in Portugal, or a multi-day celebration at a Mallorcan finca — I'm here to capture your love story in images that will move you for the rest of your life.

I photograph every wedding using a thoughtful blend of medium format film and digital photography. My go-to film stocks are Kodak Portra 400 and Portra 800, which beautifully capture the warm Mediterranean light of Spain and Southern Europe, complemented by Ilford Delta for timeless black-and-white portraits. All film is developed and scanned  by Carmencita Film Lab. 
Beyond photography, I also offer something truly unique for couples who want to relive their story in motion — Super 8 vintage film, shot on an original 1970s camera.

Planning a trip to Barcelona before your wedding? I also photograph engagement sessions and couple portraits across the city — from the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter to the golden light along Barceloneta beach. It's a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day, and you'll walk away with images you'll love.

Over the past decade, my work has taken me to some of Europe's most exquisite settings — from the sun-drenched coastlines of Mallorca to the lavender fields of Provence, the vibrant streets of Barcelona and Seville, the rolling vineyards of Portugal's Alentejo region, the romantic avenues of Paris, and the timeless canals of Venice.
